Vigía is the personalized alert engine in Contingencias Premium. Unlike generic notifications ("rain tomorrow"), Vigía fires only when a condition you chose is met at a location you chose.
What is it for?
Think of it this way: if you have a vineyard in Napa, an olive grove in Sonoma, and a fruit orchard in the Central Valley, you don't want a generic alarm going off whenever it's cold somewhere in California. You want to know:
- Whether frost is expected tonight at the vineyard (needs minimum temperature ≤ -2°C)
- Whether a hail cell is forming within 15 km of the olive grove
- Whether there's an earthquake of magnitude ≥ 3 near the fruit orchard
Each case needs a different threshold and a different location. That's exactly what Vigía solves.
Two ways to use it
There are two types of alerts in Vigía:
- Presets: 14 ready-to-activate alerts organized into 5 categories (Agricultural Risk, Radar & Satellite, Severe Storm, Official Warnings, Geophysics). Each preset has a sensible default threshold for each crop type. Activate them on one or more targets (city, fields) and you're done.
- Custom alerts: if no preset covers your case, build one from scratch by combining variables, operators, and thresholds. You have up to 5 custom alerts per user.
Where do I find them?
All your alerts live in Advanced → My Vigía Alerts. You'll see how many are active (badge "X/Y ACTIVE"), grouped by category. Tap a card to enter its detail: what condition it evaluates, which targets it's active on, and the editable thresholds.
How are alerts delivered?
Vigía fires push notifications to your phone when the condition is met. The message includes the location, the value that triggered the event, and a direct link to the detail screen.
Do I have to set everything up manually?
No. If you had toggles enabled in Settings (frost, nearby hail, lightning, earthquakes), they were automatically migrated to Vigía the first time you logged in. See "Your Settings toggles are already migrated" for details.
