At the top of the premium dashboard you'll see a chip with a 📍 icon and a place name — for example "📍 Mendoza" or "📍 Napa Estate". That chip is the control center of the entire dashboard.
What does it do?
It shows the "active target": the location whose advanced data, hail map, air quality, and nearby earthquakes are currently being calculated. Tap it to open a bottom sheet with all your available targets.
Who are your targets?
- Your main city (from onboarding). Appears first with badge "Current". Not editable — it's the anchor reference city
- Your Fields (up to 5), in creation order. The one marked as "primary" has badge "Primary"
- "+ Add field" at the end of the list, as long as you have capacity (fewer than 5)
The active target has a blue check on the right.
Why does it start on "Your city"?
Two reasons:
- If you've never created Fields, it's the only location available
- If you've created Fields but none is "primary", the system defaults to your city because it's the most "stable" location (it can't be deleted)
To have the dashboard start on a specific Field, mark it as "primary" from Settings → My Fields → tap the field → Make primary.
Does it persist between sessions?
Yes — the selected target is saved on your device. If you close and reopen the app, it starts on the last target. If you open the app on another device, that device starts on "your main city" (it's not synced between devices — it's a local setting).
Useful shortcuts
- Quickly back to city: tap the chip, tap the first item, done
- Create and activate a new Field: tap the chip, tap "+ Add field", complete the wizard. When the Field is confirmed, it's automatically set as the active target
- Jump to a Field's detail: instead of switching the target, go directly to Settings → My Fields → tap the field to view/edit metadata without affecting the dashboard
What if I don't have Premium?
The chip doesn't appear. Free users only work with their main city and don't have access to Fields. When you activate Premium, the chip becomes visible and the dashboard "unlocks" with all features.
